NELSON MANDELA, A TRUE MAN

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born July 18th, 1918 and passed away yesterday December 5th, 2013. People were saddened by his death and took to social networks to express their sorrows, refer to some of his inspirational quotes and posted hundreds of pictures of the South African icon.

Like many others I chose to celebrate his life by expressing love. As Mandela stated, “No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite”. As simple as the word love is, true and unconditional love is not only very hard to come by but to possess.  This should be something each and every one of you exercise just as he did.  His imprisonment lasted for 27 long years and once he walked out of his prison cell; he was just as humble a man as he went in.  Never wanting to get even with anyone for what most would call wrongful imprisonment but to almost immediately do what he could to make humankind better.  The first things on his agenda were to abolish apartheid and establish multiracial elections in South Africa.  Imagine, these things were only done in the 1990's! These are the fruits of the spirit that Christ himself has asked of his disciples.  (Disciples to include you and me).  Mandela was the epitome of a man and he will be greatly missed.

On this side of the world, President Obama has ordered ALL American flags to be flown at half staff until further notice.  This is the first and probably the last time this country will pay that level of respect to an African head of State.

To "the people", I urge you to educate yourselves and your loved ones so things like below never happen.

  2. That tweet was a hoax actually. She would have to be dumb as EVERY brick in the world to mistake those two men! LOL!

He was a legend! I am glad he is finally resting in peace. Between the fighting with family and his health issues after his presidency... its just been so much!

    Rest in POWER Madiba!
