FAB FOOTWEAR FOR A CARNIVAL NEAR YOU!!

This is coming to you a bit late but with only 3/4 days until the launch of ISLANDpeople I thought I should share. On the 8th of August, I sent out an email to the infamous Afro Chic.

A little background for those of you who don't know, Afro Chic (in my opinion) is the beginning and the end when coming to fabulous footwear for your carnival experience. She matches your footwear EXACTLY to your carnival costume. She is well informed of what the costumes look like and matches them whether you want an overload of feathers, bling, ribbon or colored sprays. Whatever look you are going for, she has it and completely transforms regular footwear to something as necessary to compliment your costume as your headpiece!

With that being said, I thought that now (8th of August) would be a good time to get my information together for her so that when she "started" taking registrations I could be one of the first in line!!! HA! The joke was clearly on me because not only has Afro Chic ALREADY opened her registration but people have already registered AND made down payments!!!

People!!! 2011 is shaping up to be a no nonsense year, DON'T STICK!!! Everybody has their act together and not missing a note. When coming to carnival I am usually on point and usually ahead of the game but 2011 is moving with a speed and waiting on no one. Needless to say, I registered!

My advice to you:
*Register ASAP @ www.bootsbyafrochic.com . Be advised, she doesn't take in a overload of registrations as the woman has a life as well as a 9 to 5 like everyone else, so she does have a cutoff point.

*Register even if you are indecisive about your band or section. You can advise her of that at a later date. It would be a shame to have the perfect costume crippled by a pair of unattractive sneakers, boots or sandals. Don't have an eye sore on your foot!

My black faux suede boots were just like these only taller (right above the knee with a fold) but I cut them to fit right at the knee for comfort.

I let her know that I'd be playing in ISLANDpeople Ocean Whispers Frontline. My boots were transformed into

This picture was taken as an afterthought and was after I played mas ALL DAY on Tuesday, (that year it had rain like peas). Down to the seashells that were on my costume she duplicated onto the boots. Below is a picture of the costume.
